Remembering: J.D. Harper, the master restauranteur

2006-09-26 - Photo from Harper family album.
Whether St. Peter asked him if he remembered to bring a country ham breakfast or a plate covered with one of those giant fried chicken breasts he was so famous for, or his trademark turnips, "fresh frozen" Fordhook lima beans, or recipe for strawberry shortcake, it's for sure heaven is a happier place with J.D. Harper and a bit of the Circle R there. Mr. Harper died Sunday, September 24, 2006. Visitation will be this evening at Grissom Funeral Home in Columbia. His funeral service will be at 1:00pm CT, Wednesday, September 26.
