Catherine Wilson Center will host Breast Cancer March Walk will start at 12:00noon, October 4, 2006 from the school Lindsey Wilson Colleges Catherine Wilson Center will host the Inaugural Breast Cancer Awareness March Wednesday, October 4, 2006. The march will start at 12:00noon CT, from the Catherine Wilson Center. All members of the community are encouraged to register to join the march. Marchers will begin at the Catherine Wilson Center located on Lindsey Wilson Hill and march to the square. Survivors and family members will speak about their experiences after the marchers have arrived at the square. Catherine Wilson Center Director Wendy Benningfield said she hopes to raise awareness about the disease, which is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths among American women. "We want the people of Columbia to come together and show support for raising cancer awareness," Benningfield said. We want cancer survivors and those who might develop cancer in their futures to have a community that supports them. Benningfield said she hopes to have over 100 people participate in the march. She also said she was grateful to the businesses and to the following individuals who contributed to the march. Individual contributors are:Denise Fudge, Cathy Grant, Ellen Zornes, Peggy Lawson, and Danette Lawless. To register for the event, please fill out the form which can be downloaded and printed out.
