Obituary: Catherine G. Rodgers, director LWC Training School Ms. Rodgers will warmly remembered by her many students, associates at LWC Catherine G. Rodgers, 88, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 2, 2006. She was born in Columbia, KY, to W.L. Gadberry and Kate Gilpin Gadberry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buell Rodgers; sisters, Jewell Gadberry and Russell Gadberry; brothers, Butler and Billy Joe Gadberry; and nephew, J.B. Gadberry. Survivors included the following:
She was director of Lindsey Wilson Teacher's Training School from 1951-1979. In 1991, she received an Excellence in Teaching Award from the College. Rodgers' students said she lived the Lindsey Wilson College mission everyday of her life, no only through her actions, but also through her leadership and caring toward all. She was not only an outstanding teacher, but an outstanding person as well . . . serving as a model for thousands of students. <,br>The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Lisa Riley and staff of Barren Coounty Health Care for the special care given to Ms. Rodgers and to her former students, Attorney Dale Huddleston of Louisville, and Dr. Terry Hall of Bowling Green. Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
