KSP Post 15 officers arrest Indiana man for murder in Monroe

Columbia KSP Post 15 officers make arrest after two day investigation. Indiana man located at residence in Tompkinsville, KY, and is arrested without incidence

Troopers from Kentucky State Police Post 15 at Columbia apprehended David W. Mills of Winchester, IN, for murder and leaving the scene of an accident.

The arrest was made by Troopers Mike Dubree and Ricky Brooks on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at a residence in the limits of Tompkinsville, KY.



The action developed following a hit and run fatal accident on Sunday, September 3, 2006, at approximately 2:30am CT, when David Huff, 339, of Tompkinsville, KY, was killed in a motor vehicle accident in the Tompkinsville. Mr. Huff was operating a 2002 Chevy Cavalier Northbound on Mill Creek Road when he was struck head-on by another vehicle. Immediately after the impact the driver of the southbound vehicle fled the scene.

After an investigation by Troopers Mike Dubree and Ricky Brooks, warrants were obtained for David W. Mills, charging him with murder and leaving the scene of an accident. Mills was located at the residence where the arrest was made.

The Kentucky State Police were assisted in the investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and the Tompkinsville Police Department. The investigation is continuing.
