Monroe man killed in early morning hit and run

KSP ask for tips from the public to locate fleeing driver

A fatal accident in Monroe County today, Sunday, September 3, 2006, took the life of David D. Huff, 39, of Tompkinsville.

A passenger Terry Kelsay, 47, of Glasgow, KY, was treated and released from Monroe Medical Center. Huff was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which occurred in the limits of Tompkinsville on Mill Creek Road about 3:00am CT.



The victim's vehicle, a 2002 Chevy Cavalier, was headed north on Mill Creek when it was struck head-on by an oncoming vehicle traveling southbound.

Immediately after impact the southbound vehicle fled the scene and was later found abandoned in the area.

The driver of the fleeing vehicle has yet to be located at the time of this press release. Investigation is continuing by Trooper Michael Dubre and officers from the Tompkinsville Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
