Injury accident occurs on KY 55 Wednesday afternoon A Chevrolet truck collided with a Gaddie-Shamrock paving truck in passing miscalculaton 7 miles south of Columbia, KY, on KY 55, resulting in an injury for a passenger in the vehicle which attempted to pass a paving truck. The accident occurred at 3:20pm CT, Wednesday afternoon, August 30, 2006. Matthew T. Coffey, 21, Columbia, KY, was operating a 1989 Chevrolet truck, traveling at a high rate of speed according to the Kentucky State Police, and attempted to pass a Gaddie-Shamrock 1990 Ford Paving Truck. The driver of the paving truck, Ralph Coffey, 54, Jamestown, KY, was not injured, nor was Matthew T. Coffey. But a passenger in the Matthew Coffey vehicle, Megan Arnold, 17, Columbia, KY, was treated and released at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY. SGT. Ken Hill, Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, investigated the incident.
