"Teenagers" book author Dr. Chap Clark to speak at CU

Dr. Chap R. Clark, professor of youth, family and cultureat Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif., and author of Hurt: Insidethe World of Todays Teenagers, is the guest speaker at CampbellsvilleUniversitys annual Staley Distinguished Scholar Series Tuesday and Wednesday,September 5 and 6.



Clark will speak Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at a banquet for theCampbellsville University faculty. Clark will then speak at the Sept. 6CU chapel/convocation and host a luncheon for area youth ministers and students at noon.

Clark is the 1977 graduate of the University of California San Diego with abachelor of arts degree in communications. Clark obtained his master of theologydegree in 1980 and a master of divinity degree in 1988 from Fuller TheologicalSeminary. In 1996 Clark completed his Ph.D. in human communication studies.

Clark currently resides in Washington state with his wife Deanna and their threechildren.

The Staley Distinguished Christian Scholar Program is one of the projects of theThomas F. Staley Foundation of New York.

The lectureship was established in the fall of 1969 by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F.Staley of New York, in memory of their parents, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Staley andJudge and Mrs. H.H. Haynes of Bristol, Tenn.

The Thomas F. Staley Foundation is firmly persuaded that the message of theChristian gospel, when proclaimed in its historical fullness, is alwayscontemporary, relevant and meaningful to any generation.
