Sheriff makes arrest in alleged scam; also in scrap iron theft Russell Springs pair located in Russell County and arrested; in separate case, two Columbia men charged with theft of scrap iron from Don Yates, East 80, Columbia, KY Adair County Sheriff Steve Cheatham has located two individuals involved in the alleged tree trimming scam which took place last Thursday on Liberty Road. Jonathan Graham, 20, along with Jeffery Polston, 25, both of Russell Springs, KY, were located in Russell County Tuesday. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending. One of the individuals has returned to the location and offered restitution and to clean up the brush. Cory Jeffies and Jonathan Henson arrested and charged with receiving stolen property over $300 In another unrelated incident, two indivduals have been arrested after being caught with stolen scrap iron and drilling equipment taken from Don Yates on HWY 80 East of Columbia. The two were arrested and charged with receving property over $300, a felony. They are Cory Jeffries, 18, Columbia, KY, and Jonathan Henson, 21, also of Columbia, KY. Both men were lodged in the Adair County Jail by Sheriff Steve Cheatham and Deputy Tracy McCarol.The investigation continues and more arrests and/or indictments are expected.
