Obituary: Phil R. Depp, 99, leader in rural electrification Mr. Depp served on hospital boards. including Adair Memorial Hospital Board; he was member of board of Farmer's RECC for 60 years and operated a major farming operation in Metcalfe County Phil R. Depp, 99, a longtime, highly respected leader in rural electrification, power production and distribution, healthcare, and farming, died today, in Columbia, KY. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Summit Manor Nursing Home, died Thursday, August 3, 2006, at 2:30am CT, at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 5, 2006, at 10:00am CT, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Raymond Martin the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery. He was the son of the late Joel R. and Dora Daugherty Depp of Metcalfe County, KY.Mr. Depp was a member of Glasgow United Methodist Church. He was a member of Farmer's RECC Board of Directors for 60 years, a member of East Kentucky Power Board for 21 years, a member of the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives for 21 years.Mr. Depp was a former member of T.J. Samson Hospital Board of Directors, a former member of Adair Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, and managed a huge farming operation in Metcalfe County until just a few years ago..He is survived by his wife, Doris Browning Depp, Columbia, KY, and the following:
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Cincinnati Childrens Hospital and may be left at the funeral home. Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
