Three LWC employees in student services department promoted James Darwin Vickery, Kyle Edwards, and Andy McAlister get new positions By Emily Harlan Lindsey Wilson College staff writer COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson College has promoted three employees in the student services department. James Darwin Vickery has been named director of public safety; Kyle Edwards has been named a resident director; and Andy McAllister has been named men's area coordinator. "ll three of these individuals are outstanding people," said Lindsey Wilson Dean of Students Chris Schmidt. "They all understand the Lindsey Wilson mission and they are committed to putting students at the center of their work." Vickery worked as men's area coordinator Vickery worked as men's area coordinator for one year before taking the job as director of public safety. As director of public safety, Vickery organizes the campus' 24- hour security personnel. Lindsey Wilson's public safety department immediately responds to student emergency phone calls, regulates parking and building safety and patrols Lindsey Wilson's main campus. Vickery said he looks forward to developing his relationship with Lindsey Wilson employees and students. "In the short time I have been at Lindsey Wilson I have found that the people are very easy to get along with," Vickery said. "I look forward to my new job as director of public safety as I meet the challenges of the position." Edwards was resident assistant Edwards worked as a resident assistant before he graduated last May. As resident director of Horton Hall, Edwards will work with over 120 male freshmen this school year. Edwards said Lindsey Wilson helped him succeed in college, and he is excited to help other students create a good college experience."Lindsey Wilson took a big chance when they accepted me as a student, and I feel that working here lets me give back to the school that has done so much for me. Edwards is also the coordinator of RAVE (Responsible Alcohol Values through Education). RAVE educates students about the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse, and encourages students to make healthy choices. McAllister was Horton Hall resident director Before being named men's area coordinator, McAllister was the Horton Hall's resident director of Horton Hall and RAVE coordinator. As men's area coordinator, McAllister oversees the resident directors of male dormitories, activities and residential students. McAllister said Lindsey Wilson's mission keeps him interested in his job."I believe the mission of Every Student, Every Day touches students daily," McAllister said.
