Feedback: Mother says timing of Dress Code hurt her finances Writer says she has no problems with the dress code, but that its release, two weeks before school startsinfuriates her.She had shopped early to save money and now some clothes may not meet code. She can't afford to buy more. I do not have a problem with the dress code itself. I think it is a step in the right direction... But the steps are too slow. This should have been announced a lot earlier. I am a single Mother of two school children and I had to start school shopping several weeks ago. They have all been detagged and washed because my children have a reaction to the fresh dye in new clothes. A good portion of these garments may not meet this code. Never dreamed they would ban jeans with holes especially when that is about the only way you can find them now, and they didn't come cheap. Now what? I can't afford to go buy more... that was the reason for starting early. This should have been announced much earlier than two weeks before school starts. Even if they postpone school, that won't change my finances. This infuriates me. Sincerely, Leshia Fair This story was posted on 2006-07-28 09:17:01
