LETTER: Dr. Morris Grubbs remembers Dr. Kemper I send my condolences to the Campbellsville University community for the loss of one of the most gifted teachers I have known. Beth Kemper and I were classmates in the English master's program at WKU in the late '80s and then again in the doctoral program at UK in the early '90s. We had several classes together, and we were Teaching Assistants together, and she was a good friend. She was also a model student and a trusted colleague. It was clear then, and it was immediately clear when she began her career as a professor, that she knew how to tap into the mysterious power of writing as a means of discovering and learning. It was her natural means of exploring and clarifying and complicating. She had complete faith in writing as a way of getting to truth, and she had an almost uncanny ability to impart this faith to her students. In this way she touched and changed countless lives. She will be missed. Dr Morris Grubbs grubbsm@alltel.net This story was posted on 2006-07-25 23:31:31
