Two escape Restrictive Custody Center; County Pickup missing Michael Mallard and William Basham make history: First to escape new facility; they are believed to have taken a 1999 Dodge 4-wheel drive pickup from Adair County Road Department located nearby The Kentucky State Police is investigating the first escapes from Adair County's new Restrictive Custody Center. Deputy Jailer Rickey Burris discovered two inmates missing at around 9:00pm on Saturday night, July 22, 2006. The inmates, Michael Mallard and William Travis Basham apparently walked away from the facility and stole a truck from the Adair County Road Department Building next door. Michael Mallard is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 215 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was being held on charges of Burglary 2nd Degree and Receiving Stolen Property from Henderson County Kentucky. William Travis Basham is described as a white male, 6'-1", 165 pounds, with short brown hair, blue eyes, and a goatee. He has "Travis" tattooed on his neck. Basham was being held on charges of Flagrant Non-Support from Grayson County. The two men are believed to have escaped in a white, 1999 Dodge 4-wheel drive, pickup with Official Kentucky Registration Plates KM-1553. The truck has a toolbox and a black metal rack behind the rear glass. Both men have a history of theft and property related crimes. No direction of travel or clothing description is known.
