Obituary: Glenna Rooks, 71

Mrs. Rooks was retired from the Fruit of the Loom

Glenna Rooks, 71, 1194 Rooks Denton Road, Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2006 At 8:10am, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, July 20, 2006, at 11:00am CT, at Stotts- Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Goff the officiating clergy.



She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Mae Burton.

Survived by her husband J.C. Rooks, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Three sons: Randall Rooks, Roy Rooks and his wife Reda, Columbia, KY, and Ray Rooks, Russell Springs, KY

  • One daughter: Carolyn Hare and her husband Willie Frank, Russell Springs, KY

  • Four sisters: Patty Lee and Edith Irvin, both of Columbia, KY; Feda Hembree, North Vernon, IN, and Lucille Cook, Edinburgh, IN

  • Three brothers: James Alton Burton, Columbia, KY; Danny Dale Burton, Flatrock, IN; and Billy Joe Burton, Edinburgh, IN

  • Six Grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by one sister, Euema Goodin, and one brother, Roger Winston Burton.

Mrs. Rooks was retired from Fruit of Loom.

Interment will be in Freedom Cemetery.

Stotts-Phelps- McQueary Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangments.

Visitation will be after 4:00pm, Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.
