Obituary: Dr. Ken Peasley, 55, emergency room physician

Dr. Peasley practiced medicine in Columbia, Greensburg, and Edmonton following move here from Manchester. He was a member of Columbia Seventh Day Adventist Church. A veteran, he will be accorded military rites by Columbia VFW Post 6097

Dr. Ken Peasley, 55, 4663 Weed Keltner Road, Gradyville, KY, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2006, at 5:55am CT, from injuries received in an automobile accident on KY West 80 near Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 1:00pm CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Pastor Mike Foraker the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Columbia Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 6097.


Dr. Peasley was a native of Jamestown, NY.

He was the son of the late Eli and Ruth Bracey Peasley.

Dr. Peasley was currently an emergency room physician in Columbia, Greensburg, and Edmonton, KY. He had formerly practiced in Manchester and Hyden, KY, prior to moving to Columbia, KY.

He was a member of the Columbia Seventh Day Adventist Church and a US Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Youngs Peasley, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One son: Shawn Peasley, Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Heather May Peasley, Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Judy Locke, Lancaster, MA

  • Father and mother-in-law, Richard and Joyce Youngs, Columbia, KY
The family will receive friends after 3:00pm CT, on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service for a family physician who was beloved by thousands of patients in a wide area will be Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 1:00pm CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Dr. Peasley died of injuries sustained in an vehicle crash at Gradyville early Sunday morning, as he was traveling to Columbia to make hospital rounds.
