Obituary: Paul W. Curry, 82, Columbia businessman

He attended Sparksville Church of the Nazarene, was owner of Curry's Upholstery, and was a former member of the gospel group, the Melody Aires Quartet

Paul W. Curry, 82, 506 Grissom ST., Columbia, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at 11:15pm at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky.

The funeral service Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 2:00 P. M. at Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Randy Burns, Bro. Lonny Karnes, Bro. William Karnes, Bro. John Blakey and Bro. Elbert Hadley the officiating clergy.

Visitation is after 2:30pm CT, Friday, June 23, 2006, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, and and after 6:00am CT, Saturday, June 24 at the Columbia Church of the Nazarene.


He was the son of the late Frank & Anna V. Murrell Curry. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy E. Buckner Curry on Jan. 23, 1999

Survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Edna Karnes and her husband, Lonny, of Columbia, KY: Paula Curry Pyles, and her husband, Jeff, Greensburg, KY & Mary Anna Burns, and her husband Barney, of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Evelyn Pollard, Columbia, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Bradley Karnes, Lee Ann Parnell, Brandon Burns, and Randy Burns

  • Three Great Grandchildren: Sarah Brockman, Colton Parnell and Briley Burns

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by one brother, Frank James Curry.

Paul Curry attended the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene Church. He was the owner of Curry's Upholstery in Columbia, KY. He was a former member of the Melody Aires Quartet.

Memorials are suggested to Sparksville Church of the Nazarene or the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene and may be left at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
