Results: Adair County 2006 Primary Election The night's big winners: Republicans Ann Melton, Ralph Curry, Sheila Blair, William "Bug" Knight, Roger Stephens, Kelly Hamlett, Sammy Baker, Billy Dean Coffey, and Terry Hadley; Democrats Wid Harris, Tony Loy, Jeff Hatcher, and Rick Wilson. Michael Loy wins over half of Adair County's vote to win a run-off slot for 29th District Judge. (Note: Because of a reporting error, the results for the Second District Republican Magistrate race, in earlier reports, did not list Kelly Hamlett as the winner.) By Ed Waggener ed@epwbooks.com Ann Melton is the first woman ever to be nominated for Adair County Judge Executive. She did so today with 53 per cent of the vote in the four-way Republican field, beating her nearest challenger and the only male in the race, Sammy Taylor, by an over 2-to-1 margin. Michael Loy gets over 50% of Judicial vote in Adair, will oppose Raymond Overstreet in General Election Michael Loy, Columbia, running for the 29th District Judgeship, got 2,639 votes in Adair County, to reach the run-off against Raymond Overstreet, Liberty. Overstreet, the only Casey Countian in the race, won heavily there, to top Loy's total in both counties by 98 votes. Adair Countian Judy Vance receives total of 2,461 total votes, finishes third Judy Vance, Columbia, received 1,468 in Adair County and 993 votes in Casey for a third place total of 2,461.
