Adair Arts Council says 'thank you' for response to expansion efforts

The Adair Arts Council would like to say 'thank you' to everyone who turned out Tuesday, May 2, 2006 for the dinner and organizational meeting. Around fifty Adair Countians enjoyed a private buffet of salads, carved roast beef, chicken over rice, steamed vegetables, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy and snicker pie at Lindsey Wilson's Cranmer Dining Center. Purple spring iris in cut glass vases graced each table.

This event was about leadership and expansion in efforts to open up more areas of the arts to more people. Arts Council membership is open to the public.

The dinner was a gift from two of Adair County's best friends, Lucretia and John Begley, who received an enthusiastic round of applause from the group in appreciation. The organizational meeting followed.

After dinner everyone divided up into individual groups, based on each person's areas of interest in the arts, to brainstorm about possible future activities. Many good ideas were born. These ideas will be picked up and worked on at the next meeting, set for Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 6 p.m.

From the dinner meeting, over thirty people responded that they will stay involved on teams in the various arts divisions, and five volunteered to become new board members.

There's time to become involved for anyone who wants to make time to work with the Arts:
