Robert Cecil Pankey, 70, Air Force Veteran

Mr. Pankey was retired from the State Occupational Safety & Health Agency and was a member of the Baptist Church at Deep Creek, Mercer CO, KY. His wife, the former Betty Jean Branham of Adair County, survives
Robert "Bob" Cecil Pankey, 70, 266 College ST, Woodburn, KY, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at 9:10 a.m., at his home.

The funeral will be Monday, May 1, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY, with Dr. Tim Harris the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon, KY, with military rites.


He was retired from the State Occupational Safety & Health Agency.

He was a member of the Baptist Church at Deep Creek in Mercer CO, KY>

Mr. Pankey was a U. S. Air Force veteran.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. He had been appointed a Kentucky Colonel twice, and was an Admiral of the Water Ways.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbi Jean Pankey Liles, on January 30, 2006.He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Branham Pankey, Woodburn, KY, and formerly of Adair CO, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Kathleen Pankey Diamond, Woodburn, KY

  • One brother: Alfred Kyle Pankey, Harrodsburg, KY

  • One grandson: Joshua Dale Diamond

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Visitation will be after 1:30 p.m., Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.
