Nineteen year old Columbia man dies in Russell CO accident

Another passenger, driver treated and released at Russell hospital
Nineteen year old Chase Seratt, Columbia, KY, was pronounced dead at the scene of a single vehicle accident in Russell County.

The accident occurred at 5:45 p.m. (1745 hrs), Saturday, April 22, 2006, on Hwy 379 (Hale's Highway), two miles south of Russell Springs.


Chase Seratt's sister, Sonnie Seratt, 17, the driver, Russell Springs, KY, was treated and released at the hospital in Russell Springs. She was not belted.

A second passenger, Crystal Bennett, Columbia, KY, was also treated and released at the Russell County Hospital. She was not belted.

Sonnie Sertatt was travelling northbound on Hwy 379 in a 2002 Saturn. The vehicle ran off the roadway, the driver overrected, the vehicle ran off the roadway again and overturned numerous times, ejecting 19 year old Chase Seratt.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Wendell Higginbotham of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.
