Military explosive device found in Greensburg is destroyed Explosive taken to a remote area and detonated. Military Central Intelligence will follow up investigation into incident. At about 6:00 p.m., Saturday evening, April 1, 2006, an old military explosive device was located on Legion Park Road in the limits of Greensburg, KY. The Explosive Ordinance Device Unit from the Fort Knox military base responded to the scene at which time they removed the device, which was taken to a remote area and detonated. The Kentucky State Police were assisted by the Green County Fire Department and the DES Coordinator. Sgt. Jeff Suratt, Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, participated in the action. The Environmental Protection Agency was also notified. The investigation into the possession of the military device will be followed up by the Military Central Intelligence Division.
