An injury accident occurred on US 127, south of Dunnville, KY, at 1:10 p.m., when both cars tried to use the emergency lane to avoid each other; then subsequently both entered northbound lane, where they collided, according to the accident report.

William Brown, 72, Russell Springs, KY, was operating a 1988 Chevrolet truck southbound and attempted to pass another vehicle; upon seeing a 2000 Nissan operated by Sherry Blair, 36, Dunnville, KY, William Brown went into the northbound emergency lane where Sherry Blair also veered in attempting to avoid the Brown vehicle.

In a subsequent attempt to avoid hitting each other, both drivers then steered back into the northbound lane where they collided.

Sherry Blair was treated at the Russell County Hospital. She had been belted.

William Brown was not injured. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Mike Woodrum, Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.
