Bonnie Grant, 86

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home for Bonnie Grant, age 86. the former resident of Sulphur Creek Road, Columbia, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006.

She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, was a homemaker and had worked for the Green Thumb Program.


She was the daughter of the late Aaron and Mattie Caldwell Cheek of Adair County and was preceded in death by her husband Robert Grant in 1969, two brothers and one sister, Leonard W. Cheek, Ray Cheek and Hazel Woody.

She is survived by:
  • One son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Dorris Grant of Columbia

  • Two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Bro. Wendell Hadley and Sharon and Rick Bailey of Columbia

  • Four sisters: Vena McQueary of Columbia, Opal McQueary and Pauline Patton of Campbellsville, and Ethel Barnett of Cleves, OH

  • Also surviving are nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Clergy officiating will be Bro. David Coffey. Burial will follow the service in the New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Friday.
