Eldridge Richards, 88, Russell County, KY (1935-2024) Eldridge B. Richards, 88, of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 surrounded by family. He was born in Jamestown, KY on September 25, 1935, a son of the late Velma (Grider) and Marlin Richards. He was a lifetime member and a 50 year plus Deacon at Jamestown First Baptist Church. He worked for Irby Construction Company for 9 years installing electrical transmission lines throughout the United States. in 1965 he began his 30 plus year career with Kentucky Utilities as a lineman. Eldridge is survived by: Two daughters: Susan Peck (John),and Melissa Giles (Dr. Chuck), both of Columbia, KY. A sister, Bette Riley, of Louisville, KY. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Hannah, Emily, and Aaron Peck, Baylor, Clay, Chaz (Samantha) and Dr. Van (Karli) Giles, 3 great grandchildren Josie, Charlie, and Kip Giles. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth (Cravens) Richards, and grandson Hayden Peck. Funeral Service will be held 2pmCT on Sunday, August 18th at Jamestown First Baptist Church, West Cumberland Ave., Jamestown, KY, with Dan Flanagan officiating. Friends may visit 5 to 8 on Saturday at H. E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown and 12 to 2 on Sunday at Jamestown First Baptist Church. Burial in the Rexroat Cemetery, Jamestown, KY. Grandsons and family will serve as his pallbearers.
