Emily Griffitt Anderson Murder Case: Update Feb. 11, 2006 Links also to story of Charlotte Tv station interview with Mike Griffith; story in Lenoir, City News-Topics on Judge Beverly Beal granting Sheriff Gary Clark's request to seal records in the case News on the Emily Griffith Anderson murder case has been coming at a slower rate in recent days. Still, some very significant items have been reported, including Jerry Anderson's financial circumstances, his claim that he is innocent and Sheriff Clark's assertion that Jerry Anderson is the killer, and the feelings of Jerry Anderson's pastor's support for his congregant who is charged with murder. The newest three links immediately follow: The story began December 29, 2005, when Jerry Anderson reported his wife, Emily Griffitt Anderson, missing. On January 7, 2006, Emily's body was found in a pickup truck tool box in a Waffle House Parking lot in Spartanburg, SC. One January 26, 2006, Sheriff Gary Clark of Caldwell CO, NC, arrested Jerry Anderson for the murder of Emily Griffitt Anderson. In the Tuesday, January 31, 2006 Charlotte NC Observer: a story entitled "Husband in Murder case wants court-appointed defense Lawyer," a story by Greg Lacour outlines the financial condition Jerry Anderson presented to the court in an effort to have an attorney furnished at state expense. WCNC, Charlotte, NC. story "Brother of woman found dead in truck speaks out" An interview on the WCNC-Tv, Charlotte, NC, with Dr. Mike Griffith, brother of Emily Anderson, described his feelings about Jerry Anderson and his hopes to see justice done. The story also has an interesting passage about how Jerry Anderson still gets the support of his pastor at Dry Ponds Baptist Church. It says that Jerry Anderson still maintains his innocence, but that Sheriff Clark says that Jerry Anderson is the killer.
