Marlis Gene Robinson Akin, 96, Green County, KY Marlis Gene Robinson Akin of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Frances Eugene Robinson and Jessie Maud Clark Robinson, was born on Thursday, March 15, 1928 and departed this life on Saturday, June 8, 2024. She was 96 years, 2 months, and 24 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Greensburg Presbyterian Church. She worked as a nurse for over 45 years providing her care at multiple different hospital's. Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Wood Akin on November 4, 2009, having united in marriage on January 5, 1951. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Cynthia Akin of Summersville; a daughter: Barbara Akin of Greensburg; a daughter-in-law: Sally Akin of Florida; one grandchild: Ashlee and Clayton Matney of Campbellsville; two great-grandchildren: Levi Matney and Alanna Matney both of Campbellsville; a sister: Ruth Williams of Arkansas; a brother: Kenneth Robinson of Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other family. She is also preceded in death by a son: Gary Wayne Akin. The funeral services for Marlis Gene Robinson Akin will be conducted at 11amCT Monday, June 10, 2024 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Adam Scott officiating. Visitation is requested after 9 Monday until time of the funeral service. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take form of donation to the Gideon Bible Fund.
