Collin White sings his way to the Grand Ole Opry By Bill Collins, Proud Grandfather Collin White, singer, goes from Campbellsville, to Vicksburg, Mississippi, to Nashville, Tennessee - his first appearance on The Grand Ole Opry. I witnessed a dream fulfilled on Wednesday night, May 29, 2024. I had the privilege of experiencing my grandson's dream come true as he sang in the "Circle" on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. It was exciting and humbling and answered many prayers and years of dedication. Since Collin was two years old, he would strum a little guitar and sing and say, 'one day, I'm going to sing on that Opry Stage.' He loved and sang all types of music (even opera at Campbellsville University - boy that was different - but he loved country music. Over the years, he dedicated himself to his music, taking advantage of every opportunity to sing and play, from music competitions to high school show choir, to church praise team to choirs at CU. When he learned that the Sound of Small-Town America talent competition winner got to sing on the Opry, he loaded his guitar in his truck and took off. And, as they say, that's how he got to Nashville. He has now recorded and released two singles. The first, "Still Standing," was released in September 2022 and opened at #18 on the iTunes Christian Charts. It is the highest-charting Christian Country song in the history of Christian Country music. His second single, "Kindness and Respect, "was released on May 31, 2024. We anxiously await how the public will receive it. I urge you to download them both. You will be blessed. In my book, from a grandfather's perspective, he's always a winner.
