Arvile W. Roy, 85, Columbia, KY (1938-2024) Arvile W. Roy of Columbia passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at T. J. Health Columbia. He was 85 years old. Funeral services will be held at 3pmCT on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Craig Huddleston and Bro. Stanley Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue Thursday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born on June 20, 1938, in Columbia, KY to the late Omer and Cleo Fitch Roy. Mr. Roy was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed restoring antique furniture, collecting pocketknives, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife Linda Melton Roy of Columbia, KY; three children Greg Roy (Marsha), Tim Roy (Georgina) and Bobbie Roy Long (Lance Henderson), all of Columbia, KY; six grandchildren Jared Roy, Timmy Roy, Reagan Long, Aiden Long, Heather Blankenship, and Anthony Blankenship; two great grandchildren Tynleigh and Jessalyn Roy and one on the way Ivy Singleton; several nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings Stella Conover, Mary Lou Tweedy, Marie Lucas, Tom Roy, Sammy Roy, Charlie Roy, and Carlie Roy. Pallbearers will be Jared Roy, Anthony Blankenship, Caylen Dial, George Singleton, Larry Johnson, and Ryan Johnson. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
