ACSO: Sheriff's Office investigates commercial vehicle accident

From Sheriff Josh Brockman
Adair County Sheriff's Office

On Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 1:20pmCT, Deputy Gary Roy was dispatched to KY 704 approximately 7 miles south of Columbia, because Adair 911 had received a call about a large truck that had overturned.

Preliminary investigation shows that Scott Peacock, 47, of Edmonton, was operating a 1995 International straight truck on KY 704 when he dropped off the right shoulder of the highway. Peacock then overcorrected and the vehicle left the roadway, striking a mailbox and overturning.

Peacock and his two passengers, Jessica Williams and Johnny Slayton, were treated on scene by Adair EMS and then transferred to TJ Health Columbia.

The accident remains under investigation by Deputy Gary Roy.
