Benny Hugh Smith, 84, Cumberland County, KY Benny Hugh Smith of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, having attained the age of 84 years, and 23 days. He was born in Breeding, Kentucky on Tuesday, April 9, 1940, the son of Finis & Norma (Jessie) Smith. He was of the Christian faith, attended the First Christian Church of Burkesville, and worked as a machine mechanic and a supervisor at Bob Evans Manufacturing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Smith, daughter, Stacy Smith, and great-granddaughter, Emery Grace Frost. He is survived by his wife Brenda (Murphy) Smith, whom he wed on Saturday, June 17, 1961, daughters, Kimberly (& Rickie) Huntsman, and Tracy Vanderpool (& Jay Cary), all of Burkesville, grandchildren, Nikkia (& Josh) Frost, Dylan Radford, Hanna (& Jackson) Dunham, Autumn Lee, Sarah Sutton, Halee Bunch, great-grandchildren, Kinley, Sylas, Norah, Alice, Lainey, Jude, Bennett, and Grady. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday May 4, 2024 at 1pmCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky, with Bro. Nickie Richards and Bro. Terry Shelly officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 3, 2024 beginning at 2 until the funeral hour on Saturday afternoon. Burial will be in the Burkesville Cemetery.
