Karen D. Bishop, 67, Columbia, KY (1956-2024)

Karen Diane (Lee) Bishop of Columbia passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the University of Louisville Hospital, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was 67 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Paul Patton officiating the services. Cremation will follow the services.

Visitation will be after 11amCT on Friday at the funeral home.


She was born in Louisville, KY on October 28, 1956, to the late Fred Lawrence Lee, Sr. and Doris Jean Milburn Montgomery of Columbia, KY who survives.

Ms. Bishop enjoyed doing yard work, flower gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two children April Schoenbaechler of Campbellsville, KY, and Jeremiah Stephen Bishop (Leshana Brooks) of Lexington, KY; three grandchildren Madison and Lileigh Schoenbaechler and Bailey Dixon; four siblings Fred Lee (Brenda) of Columbia, KY, Larry Lee of Carrollton, KY, Teresa Jackson of Louisville, KY and Pam Lee of Louisville, KY and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
