Mary Alma Keltner, 92, Adair Co., KY (1931-2024)

Mary Alma Hubbard Keltner of the Clay Ridge Community passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at her residence. She was 92 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jimmy Dale Cox and Chaplain Yves Baptiste officiating. Burial will follow in the Keltner Morrison Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 10amCT on Tuesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.


She was born in Adair County on July 26, 1931, to the late Elbert Ross and Minnie Banks Hubbard.

She was retired from Green Hill Nursing Home as a cook, worked in various sewing factories, and was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and always made sure everyone ate when they were in her home. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, working puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 75 years Allen Simpson Keltner; two children Peggy Ann Curry (Gary) and Billy Wayde Keltner (Sondra) both of Columbia, KY; four grandchildren Jason Curry, Michael Keltner (Amanda), Sarah Veatch, and Brandy Spicer; three great grandchildren Kimber Keltner, David Veatch, and Lennie Veatch; a daughter-in-law Tanda Keltner of Lebanon, TN and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son David Keltner, a great grandson Case Wayde Keltner, and four siblings Samuel Louis Hubbard, Maxine Rowe, Martha Gaskins, and Lois Ruth Hutchison.

Pallbearers will be Jason Curry, Michael Keltner, Scotty Cowan, Keith Breeding, Calvin Pittman, and James Garrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Smith, Ralph Curry, Steve Curry, Jerry Yarberry, and Dale Hayes.
