Marion Gayle Holland, 77, Green County, KY (1947-2024)

Marion Gayle Davenport Holland of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Charles Edward "Horton" Davenport and Leora Frances Moran Davenport, was born on Tuesday, March 11, 1947 in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, April 14, 2024. She was 77 years, one month, and three days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Old Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a retired certified nursing assistant, medication aid, housekeeper, and caregiver.


Survived by her husband of 57 years, William Edwin "Billy" Holland, having united in marriage on December 23, 1966.

Other survivors include a brother and sister-in-law: Randy and Karen Davenport of Greensburg; a sister: Genevieve Davenport Buckner of Hodgenville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son: Michael Todd Holland on March 12, 2020; two sisters: Mary Hazel Davenport Cross and Ollye Mae Davenport Clark; two brothers: Carlos Howell "Hobby" Davenport and infant, William Thomas Davenport; brothers-in-law: Paul Vernon Cross, Billy Buckner, David Clark; a sister-in-law: Roberta Buckner Davenport.

The funeral services for Marion Gayle Davenport Holland will be conducted at 1pmCT Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Davenport Cemetery. Bro. Daryl Rogers, Bro. Cliffton Sullivan, and Bro. Garnett Wayne Davis officiating. Visitation is requested from 4-8 Saturday and after 7 Sunday until time of the funeral service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, which can be made at the funeral home.
