Grady Wallace Thompson, 84, Greensburg, KY

Grady Wallace Thompson of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Chess Thompson and Edna Wilcoxson Thompson, was born on Friday, July 21, 1939 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 84 years, 8 months, and 19 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a deacon and Sunday School teacher for 50 plus years at Little Barren Baptist Church, and also attended Liletown United Methodist Church. He was employed with the former Clark Casual Furniture Manufacturing, was a farmer and loved his cows.Survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Ann Young Thompson of Greensburg, having united in marriage on December 21, 1963.


Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Todd Rogers of Greensburg; a son: Bradley Thompson of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Ashley Rogers of Louisville, Hunter Rogers of Greensburg, and Mikka Larimore and husband, Cody of Greensburg; a brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Wanda Thompson of Greensburg; sister-in-law: Betty Young of Greensburg; nephews: Mark Thompson of Louisville, and David Thompson of Greensburg; a niece: Terria Wallace of Shepherdsville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Thompson was also preceded in death by two brothers: Garnett Thompson and Fred Thompson.

The funeral is at 2pmCT Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Little Barren Cemetery. Bro. Meryl Young, Bro. Philip Pursley officiating.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Little Barren Cemetery Fund or Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
