All-Stars Predators win four in a row By Christine Ussery Proud Mom On January 21, 2006 Columbia's Cheerleading and Tumbling Academy Youth All-Star Cheerleading Predators attended the Louisville Cheer and Dance Open at Southern High School. They competed against a team from Indiana and before the scores were read the announcer said that the Small Junior Prep level 3 division was a very close competition. The Youth Predators, who won by 3 points, received their fourth straight first place trophy and again qualified for the CanAm Nationals, scheduled for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in March. Coach Damon Hicks said, "Again the girls showed that they can step it up a notch when it is time to compete. This was our first competition since the middle of December and practice was a little harder for them coming off of break, but when you put an audience in front of them, they can really turn it on! This team has exceeded my expectations, for this being their first year, says Hicks, and even though we have a couple of areas to cover and perfect before Nationals, I know that this team will continue to perform well.
