Barbara Jean Bloyd, 79, Russell County, KY (1944-2024) Barbara Jean Bloyd, age 79, of Russell Springs, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024. Born November 3, 1944 in Russell Springs, she was the daughter of Fred Grayum and Sallie "Francis" Ballenger Grayum. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma. She enjoyed cooking, working crossword puzzles, watching golf and was an avid bird watcher. She was everyone's "mom" and would always make sure to cook something special or prepare a sweet treat for everyone. She was also known to give anything she had to anyone in need. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Norvil Gene Bloyd; two sisters, Betty Jo Foster and Beverly Jefferson; two brothers, Jimmy Grayum and Dennis (Debbie) Grayum; four children, Barry (Thelma), Mark, Gary (Melissa), and Alicia (Anne); seven grandchildren, Amber, Josh, Jared (Brooklyn), Brianna, Chelsie, Kaley and Kendall; and one great granddaughter, Susan Grimsley. Barbara was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services are 11amCT on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Carroll Egnew officiating.
