The Columbia-Adair County Rescue Squad and Adair County Sheriff's Office recovered a stolen vehicle on January 23, 2006, in a small lake on Allen Cemetery RD. in the Knifley community.

For a time it was not know whether anyone was in the vehicle, but the recovery revealed that the vehicle was not occupied.

Divers were utilized from Adair County Rescue Squad and Campbellsville-Taylor County Rescue Special Operations Team. Attempts were made on January 22, 2006, to search for possible body(s) and to locate the vehicle.

Vehicle had been located in less than half-hour

The vehicle was located in approximately 25 minutes, but due to the extreme cold and very low visibility the recovery efforts were canceled until the next day.
