Indians to take off after honors walk and escort By Trey Stephens Sports Writer for Columbia Magazine It is State Tournament week! The Adair County High School boys basketball team is less than 48 hours away from taking the court at Rupp Arena in the first round of the state tournament. Anticipation is high for players, fans, school and the entire community. The Indians begin their journey Tuesday morning, March 19, 2024 where they will be honored with a walk through at all four Adair County schools, first at ACPC at 9amCT, through each, and wind up at the high school, followed by a departure with a police escort through Columbia at around 10am. The team has been practicing at Western Kentucky University's Diddle Arena, trying to gain comfort with larger arenas leading up to the state tournament. The rest of the time before the big game, the Indians will be practicing at Transylvania University. They are excited and proud to have the opportunity to represent Adair County at the state tournament and hope to see a large amount of fan support in Lexington Wednesday at 5pmCT/6pmET.
