Women's History Month: Pam Hancock honored McDonald's Honors Women's History Month - Columbia Owner Operator Pam Hancock operates three McDonald's locations COLUMBIA, KENTUCKY - As Women's History Month is celebrated around the United States during the month of March, the McDonald's system is proud to count many outstanding female employees, franchisees and suppliers among its leaders. In the U.S., women own and operate 30 percent of all McDonald's restaurants. One of those restaurants is located right here in Columbia. Pam Hancock is a second-generation McDonald's owner operator who began her career as a General Manager becoming an Owner Operator in 2013. "I started my McDonald's Career in 1992, and held the role of general manager for nine years." said Hancock. "I received the Outstanding General Manager award in 1994, 1998 and 1999. I have always been committed to the brand and knew I had a future with McDonald's." Hancock operates three McDonald's locations in Kentucky, including the Columbia location. She has been locally recognized as Outstanding Business Woman of the Year from Adair County Chamber in 2011 and was selected by other McDonald's owner operators in the region to serve on the business unit's board. On top of this, Pam is on the Adair County Tourism Board, serving her community. She takes pride in both giving back to the community and serving as a role model to other women. "Being a female operator is sometimes challenging, but rewarding at the same time. It is important that I portray myself as someone with good morals, being fair and consistent." said Hancock. "As a role model in the community and for my crewmembers, I make every effort to be available for those we employ and for the community we serve." Hancock gives credit to the community for helping her gain success in business and life. "I am inspired by the communities we serve and I appreciate each and every customer for their loyalty," said Hancock. "I appreciate all of my employees that make it happen every day, without them I couldn't do what I do." Hancock, who is a next generation McDonald's owner operator is quick to point out that her father has been by her side throughout her career. "I have been fortunate to have him and his business knowledge to help guide me along the way for 30 plus years." McDonald's at 980 Jamestown Road Columbia is locally owned and operated and proud to serve our community.
