IMAGINE! Youth Theatre returns this summer

TheatreFest!, the Summer Theatre at Lindsey Wilson College, is thrilled to announce the return of its IMAGINE! Youth Theatre day camp, running from Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, June 28, 2024.

This exciting camp will culminate in a performance of Tuck Everlasting, the musical adaptation of Natalie Babbitt's beloved children's classic. Thanks to the generous support of our donors and friends, this year's camp is offered completely free of charge to all students.

IMAGINE! Youth Theatre will run daily from 8amCT to NoonCT from Tuesday, May 28 to Friday, June 28, 2024, in V.P. Henry Auditorium, meeting each week Monday through Friday mornings. The camp is open to students ages 8-18 and is completely free for all students. For more information or to register your child, please visit www.theatrefest.org or contact Associate Artistic Director Jeremy Cloyd at cloydj@lindsey.edu or (270) 384-8044.

Cloyd shared his enthusiasm, stating, "This has become one of my favorite things about making theatre in Columbia. Since 2018, working with these students toward a production has taught me more about theatre, myself, and this community than anything could."

IMAGINE! Youth Theatre will present Tuck Everlasting (TYA Version), a 70-minute rendition of the story that explores the question: What would you do if you could live forever? Join eleven-year-old Winnie Foster on a journey beyond her white picket fence. When Winnie becomes entwined with the immortal Tuck family, she discovers a life of adventure she never imagined. But as she learns the secret behind their everlasting life, Winnie must protect it from those who would do anything for eternal youth. Will she choose to return to her old life or join the Tucks on their infinite journey?

Performances of Tuck Everlasting will take place at 7pmCT on June 28 and 29, 2024, and at 2pmCT on June 30, 2024, in V.P. Henry Auditorium, located inside the L.R. McDonald Administration Building on the Campus of Lindsey Wilson College.

Artistic Director Robert Brock emphasized the importance of IMAGINE! Youth Theatre, stating, "Allowing a space for students to participate in and experience theatre firsthand is at the core of what TheatreFest! believes in."
