Baseball: LWC faces Midway and Bryan to start the week

The Lindsey Wilson baseball team will be playing two games early this week before opening conference play this weekend. The Blue Raiders will be traveling to Midway (KY) on Tuesday for a 1pmCT game, and then on Wednesday at 2pmCT they will host (RV) Bryan College (TN).

The Blue Raiders are currently 11-9 overall, having last played on March 5 at Pikeville where they lost 5-7. Chance Stayton has recorded 20 hits so far this season, five of them leading to extra bases and three of them being home runs. Sam Gage has had 18 hits, also with five leading to extra bases and has tabbed one home run while Andres Duran has recorded three home runs and three extra bases hits on 16 hits so far this season. Cohen Achen has made five starts in six appearances at pitcher this season, recording three wins. Glenn Simes has made three starts in five appearances, with two wins and an earned run average of 2.39.

Midway is 12-10 overall and 4-2 in conference play, most recently going 1-2 in their series against West Virginia Tech last week. Eli Glasscock has recorded 26 hits this season, with five leading to extra bases and four of them being home runs. Josh Halterman has had 25 hits, four leading to extra bases and two being home runs and has also recorded 26 RBI's. Dylan Burton and Owen Clark have both made six starts in six appearances at pitcher for the Eagles this season, both recording three wins apiece. The last meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Eagles was on March 15, 2022, with Lindsey Wilson winning 12-2.

The Lions of Bryan College are 12-11 this season and 5-5 in conference play, last facing Union College in a three game series where they fell 1-2. Junior Bryson Lofton has had 41 hits this season, with nine leading to extra bases and eight home runs along with 28 RBI's. Dante Morton has recorded 26 hits, with 17 RBI's, five home runs and five hits leading to extra bases. Cameron Harvey has made six starts in seven appearances at pitcher for the Lions, and has given up 22 runs on 42 hits. In the last meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Lions on February 20, 2024, the Blue Raiders won 10-9.
