Trooper Pat Proffitt, 72, Burkesville, KY (1952-2024) George Patrick "Pat" Proffitt of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 at his residence in Burkesville, Kentucky having attained the age of 72 years, and 6 days. Pat worked as a Kentucky State Trooper for 22 years, served as Deputy Sheriff for Cumberland County, and was a local farmer. He was born in Gamaliel, Kentucky on Monday, March 3, 1952, the son of George & Marjorie (Ritter) Proffitt. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Amy (Norris) Proffitt, whom he wed on Friday, June 28, 1991, brother, Joe (& Barbra) Proffitt of Gamaliel, Kentucky, sister, Sherri Proffitt of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, children, Steven Proffitt of Fountain Run, Kentucky, Clay (& Jennifer) Proffitt of Mt. Hermon, Kentucky, Jerald Proffitt of Burkesville, Evan Proffitt of Monticello, Kentucky, Angela Proffitt of Fountain Run, Kentucky, Mahalia Proffitt of Glasgow, Kentucky, and Kari (& Will) Huff of Burkesville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Kaitlyn (& Jake) Slaughter, Cameron Proffitt, Tylor Proffitt, Mercedes Proffitt, Deven Norris, Wyatt Proffitt, Keeara Proffitt, Sarah Proffitt, great-grandchildren, Abrahm Proffitt, and Oakley Slaughter. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 1pmCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky, with Bro. Nickie Richards officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 11, 2024 beginning at 2pmCT until the funeral hour on Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky.
