Colonel Daniel Trabue holds group spellbound From Mike Watson Col. Daniel Trabue was portrayed by our own Richard Phelps before a great assemblage at the Adair County Genealogical Society's monthly meeting on Monday evening, March 4, 2024. Richard, fresh from the stage at Boonesborough, enthralled a packed house with his revised biographical presentation on the co-founder of Columbia. Several individuals in the crowd were recognized at the conclusion of the performance, including Susan Key, the lady who now owns the property where the Anderson Cemetery is located, the burial place of Daniel and Mary Haskins Trabue. This cemetery is undergoing a renovation by Richard with the assistance of professional restorers Jill Halcomb Smith and Jeff Smith. The cemetery has long been maintained by Lloyd and Laura Mitchell Wilds, who were also present. It will be a showplace very soon with reconstructed markers. Thanks to all involved in making this project and the program possible. This story was posted on 2024-03-06 10:20:47
