John L. Ritzie, 79, Breeding, KY (1944-2024) John L. Ritzie of Breeding passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at T.J. Health Columbia. He was 79 years old. Funeral Mass will take place at 11amCT on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1217 Greensburg St. Columbia, KY. Father Pat Dolan will celebrate the Funeral Mass. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9amCT until 10:45amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. He was born on July 5, 1944, in Hamilton, OH to the late Fredrick J. Ritzie and Virginia Rollins Ritzie. He was also preceded in death by a sister Gerri Ritzie Carter. Mr. Ritzie was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church and enjoyed Bowling, Woodworking and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Townya West Ritzie of Breeding, KY; four children David Ritzie (Michelle) of Hamilton, OH; Melissa Smith (Rob) of Hamilton, OH; Jolyn Morgan (Dan) of Breeding, KY; and Lathan Ritzie of Breeding, KY. Ten grandchildren Bryan Bowlin (Caitlyn), Travis Ritzie (Paige), Jessica Flores, Olivia Ritzie, Sophia Ritzie, Devery Smith, Kaylen Smith, Raeonna Ritzie, West Morgan and Rose Morgan; three great grandchildren Blake Hillman, Gisele Flores, Rozel Flores; two siblings Fredrick P. Ritzie and Theresa Ritzie Ried. The family has asked in Lieu of flowers to help with the funeral expenses and they can be left at the funeral home.
