Malcolm Johnson, 89, Burkesville, KY (1934-2024)

Malcolm C. Johnson of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 having attained the age of 89 years, 7 months and 18 days.

He was of the Christian faith, a member of Highland Chapel Methodist Chapel. He proudly served in the US Army, and was the business owner of the Johnson Service Station.


He was born in Burkesville, Kentucky on Friday, June 29, 1934, the son of John Melvin & Bessie Lee (Coop) Johnson.

In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Claudette (Collins) Johnson, whom he wed on Tuesday December 25, 1951, brothers, Russell Johnson, Hall Johnson, and Baby Owen.

He is survived by his children, Vicky Johnson of Burkesville, Kentucky, Beth (& Steve) Blakley of Celina, Tennessee, Karla (& Rodney) Cross of Albany, Kentucky, grandchildren, Nathan (& Lindsey) Garner, Sarah (& Bradley) Kessinger, Kourtney (& Brent) Coulter, Katelyn (& Brandon) Owen, Kane, great-grandchildren, Baylee, Brentley, Charley, Collins, Rylan, Colson, Riggs, Remington, and Chanlee, and bonus family, Heather Blakley, Steven Blakley, Maddix Coulter, Noah Coulter, Taylor Blakley, Jadon Galvin, and Justice Blakley.

The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 2pmCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky, with Bro. Nicki Richards and Bro. Gary Hardin officiating. Burial will be in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky.
