Tea Party enjoyed at Trabue Russell House Folks who support preservation, heritage and traditions gathered at the historic Trabue Russell House Saturday February 10, 2024 for a special Tea Party. About 50 guests - family and friends - attended in addition to those behind the scenes who made the event happen. Volunteers assuring the Tea Party would taste wonderful and function beautifully were Mary Anne Loy with her special assistants Ashley and Ila Loy; Nanwood Market owners Sandy Conover and Luci Irvin; and servers Halle Burton, Mattie Willis and Maggie Brummett. Comments ran very positive on the whole event as well as on the keepsakes and information contained in the house. Before leaving, groups stopped at the selfie spot set up by Nanwood for pictures in front of the fireplace. Menu items included: Appetizers: Tomato Dill Soup, Bacon Jam + Goat Cheese Crostini, Stuffed Dates. Main Courses: Savory Tartlet, Country Ham Biscuits, Curry Tea Sandwich. Desserts: Banana Pudding, Chocolate + Strawberry Cupcake. Tea flavors: Earl Grey, Blueberry (Caffeine Free), Chocolate Mint, and Southern Pecan.
