Phyllis Firquin, 82, Columbia, KY (1941-2024) Phyllis Dean (Selby) Firquin of Columbia passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at her residence. She was 82 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jimmy Dale Cox and Bro. Mike Moon officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue on Thursday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. She was born in Russell County, KY on April 9, 1941, to the late Vernon and Pearl Grider Selby. Mrs. Firquin was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking large holiday meals and desserts, doing yard work and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband Jimmy Firquin of Columbia, KY; two daughters Rhonda Lynn Durrett (Rodney) of Madison, AL and Sondra Dean Keltner (Billy) of Columbia, KY; four grandchildren Michael Keltner (Amanda) of Columbia, KY, Allison Durrett (Robert English IV), Anna Durrett (Joseph Kilcoyne) of Chicago, IL, and Sarah Veatch of Columbia, KY; five great grandchildren Kimber Keltner, Robert English V, David Veatch, James English, and Lennie Rose Veatch; a brother J. V. Selby (Molly) of Russell County and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Case Keltner and five siblings. Pallbearers will be Billy Keltner, Rodney Durrett, Michael Keltner, Josh Brockman, Joe Kilcoyne, and Rodney Firquin. The Family would like to thank the Hosparus team and Dr. Partin and staff for the exceptional and comforting care they provided Mrs. Firquin and the family.
