Shane Lovins, 52, Green County, KY (1971-2024)

Shane Lee Lovins was born May 15, 1971 to Belinda Simpson and the late Dane Hornaday. He departed this life, Tuesday January 30, 2024, at his home in Greensburg, KY, having attained the age of 52 years, 8 months, and 15 days.

Shane had a vibrant personality that everyone loved. He was a Green County Marching Dragon trumpet player and played the piano in church years ago. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Church.


He was a manager at Maialina Italian Kitchen in Indianapolis, IN for many years in which he was depended on by his boss and all staff to keep things running smoothly.

Besides his father, Shane was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Louis and Naomi Lovins, paternal grandparents; Delbert and Wanda Hornaday, step grandmother; Marilyn Simpson, stepfather; Danny Simpson, brother-in-law; Jason Propes, and several aunts and uncles.

Shane is survived by his mother: Belinda Simpson, one sister: Shawn Propes, one brother: L.J. Hudgins, niece: Jazylynn Propes and step grandfather: Homer Simpson, all of Green County, three aunts: Connie Schmidt, Terry Taylor, Van Hornaday: one uncle: Dale Lovins, a special friend: Kasey Anderson, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Following Shane's wishes cremation was chosen. There will be a memorial service at 1pmCT Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Mt Lebanon United Methodist Church, 100 Mt Lebanon Church Road in Greensburg with Bro. Wilburn Bonta officiating. Visitation will be after 12noonCT until the service. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg to help with funeral expenses. These can be made at the funeral home or at the church.
