Raymond Loy, 76, Columbia, KY (1947-2024)

Raymond Loy of Columbia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Norton Hosparus Health Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. He was 76 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ronnie Janes officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue Sunday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

There will be Masonic Rites by Columbia Masonic Lodge #96 at 7pmCT on Saturday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, and the public is welcome to attended.


He was born on March 14, 1947, in Adair County, KY to the late Hansel and Rosa Gladys Hill Loy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Brenda Murphy Loy.

Raymond attended the Amazing Grace Church and was a member Shepherdsville Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building things, working on cars, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his three daughters Anita Burt of Louisville, KY, Kimberly Loy, and Melinda Haste (Timothy) both of Columbia, KY: grandchildren Kristina Lafevere (Chris), David "DJ" Burt Jr, Jonathan Adams, Stephen Adams, Michael Elmore, Joshua Vincent, and Brandon Vincent; ten great grandchildren Cooper, Owen, Ian, Kierra, Michael Jr., Corvin, Levi, Jeremiah, Haley, and Juliet and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a grandson Justin "Juddy" Burt and four siblings Freddie Loy, Betty Murphy, Peggy Furkin and Harold Loy.

Pallbearers will be William Helm, Derrick Murphy, D J. Burt, Bo Murphy, Andy Murphy, and James Judd.
