CMC Metcalfe opens doors in Edmonton From Kim Harwood, Executive Director Edmonton Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce The Edmonton-Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce welcomed Community Medical Care to Edmonton with a ribbon cutting on Thursday morning. As you drove out West Stockton Street you would have noticed a large crowd gathered in front of the T J Health Edmonton Clinic. Chamber President Daniel Bragg welcomed those in attendance on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, and introduced Randy Burns, Executive Director. Randy Burns welcomed the crowd and spoke with great passion about the Community Medical Program. Community Medical Care originated in Barren County and has been serving the community for 22 years. Randy then introduced Tina Combs who has been with the program for 21 years. Tina is a Metcalfe County resident, and she too has a passion for helping others. Tina will be the face of CMC Metcalfe. Tina spoke briefly about the donors who helped bring CMC Metcalfe to fruition. Tina shared key pieces about the program before introducing Dr. Bharat Mody. Dr. Bharat Mody, CMC Advisor and Founding Member shared the history of Community Medical Care. Dr. Mody stated the Community Medical Program started in Barren County and was supported from the beginning by the community. Dr. Mody also has a strong connection to Metcalfe County and is pleased the program is now available to this community. The room was filled with people that have compassion, concern, and the desire to help others. How blessed Metcalfe Countians are to have the support of such caring individuals. Next, everyone moved outside in front of the building for the ribbon cutting. Tina Combs was handed the "big scissors" to do the honors. The ribbon was cut, and the pictures were made. To end the event the crowd was treated to a tastefully decorated Grazing Table catered by Tammy Thomas, Owner of Pauline's Pies, Cakes, and Pastries. Welcome Community Medical Care to Metcalfe County! This story was posted on 2024-02-02 09:59:02
